World Cup Pushes Public Transport Agenda

My thing, so sorry if it seems self indulgent.

South Africa is kicking some butt on their public transportation just in time for the 2010 World Cup.

This is a good thing, because I’m going to be there, and because this will be a huge contribution to the South African economy in the long run. No doubt the World Cup has caused the project to go forward at a quicker pace than it otherwise would have.

Boo Hiss for the U.S. again ranking at the lower end of the Global Peace Index. In a ranking system that includes 140 countries we rank 97th, down one from last year, the first year of the index.
