We Have Death Panels

We already have death panels. Only now they rely on whether or not you can pay the bill, or what your insurance will cover. Some doctor, now an insurance administrator who hasn’t practiced medicine in 15 years, is paid well to decided if you live or die, or worse yet it’s some idiot that has a script to go by, and has never practiced medicine or nursing at all. They partially rely on the advance directive you are asked to fill out upon most hospital admissions. You know, where they ask you whether or not you want them to try to restart your heart, or breath for you by machine, should either of those activities cease. The richer you are the more likely they will do either, or both, even if you, as the wealthier person, has less of a chance of survival than your less wealthy counterpart.

Welcome to the nightmare of health care in this country.
